TAKING YOUR PRACTICAL DRIVING TEST
Before you can take your driving practical test you will need to have passed your driving theory test. The current test fee is £62.00 for a Weekday test and £75 for a Saturday or Evening test (From 30th March 2009). If you have been advised you need to take an extended test (eg. following a driving ban) we can arrange this as well, the fee in this instance being twice the normal fee.
The waiting time for tests varies enormously across test centres, but is typically 6 to 8 weeks. This applies to all driving schools: tests are booked by a central booking office.
There are 3 main parts to a Driving Practical: An Eyesight Test, Show Me Tell Me Questions, and The Driving Test itself. These are designed to make sure you are able to drive safely and to an acceptable level on the roads.
